Zip-lining in Jurassic Park

I finally crossed Zip-lining off my bucket list!

This weekend I took a trip up to Kualoa Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii, and partook in the Jurassic Valley Zip-line. It was a three-hour adventure for about $180.

The Tour

In the beginning, you get on the back of a Jeep and your instructor leads you up to the park. You are met with beautiful scenery filled will green hills and mountains and on your right, you can see the ocean. When I was going up, it started to rain hard and I sat in the front of the Jeep so, I got really wet. Going deeper in they talk about every movie that has been filmed there. Some of my favorites are Jurassic Park (of course), Jumanji, and 50 first dates. They also filmed Big Foot there which has foot engravings of his feet on the ground. After filming many producers left pieces of their set behind and now they use them for display suck objects like dinosaur bones, a tree, and war huts.

Zip-Lining

Making it up to the Zipline, the rain stopped. We were allowed to place our belongings in lockers, take pictures and go through safety procedures. I was in a group of 11 (including myself). The course involved seven zip lines and two suspended bridges.

I was really scared since this was my first time but luckily they start you off with a shorter zip line to get over your fears. I got the courage to go third and it was a piece of cake. The second and third zips were a little longer. The fourth one is the longest one (it rained on this line) and the last one is the fastest one. On zip six they gave us all peanuts to try and toss it into a bucket while zipping and nobody in my group got it in.

The suspended bridges are very bouncy and shaky especially when walking with a group.

Our instructors were very nice and kept us notified when our pictures would be taken throughout the course!

Lasting Comments

If you are thinking about Zip-Lining, I 10 out of 10 recommend it. I thought it would be a life-changing experience but it was just a fun activity to do once it's all said and done. Nothing to be scared about! I think the location was awesome. I would do it again just at a different location ( I get bored easily) and for less money.
