Hiking in Hawai'i

Hiking can be tiresome but the reward at the top is worth it.

I took my time out this weekend to travel to Manoa Falls Trail in Honolulu, Hawaii with my college roommates. The walk is 1.6 miles and about 30 - 45 minutes including the times I sat down to take a break.

The trail is saturated with beautiful greenery, tall trees and water coming down the stream at each turn. The ground is muddy in some spots and very rocky so definitely wear close toe sneakers and flexible clothing to walk in. Make sure to spray in bug spray as well.

Midway through the hike I wanted to give up, sweat was glistening down my body and my ice water I brought melted and was running warm. I had to turn on a motivational video and music to get me up the trail.

At the top was a lovely sight. You could see how far the water fall fell. My friends and I took a restricted route down to get closer to the fall. It was piles of massive rocks you had to walk on and you could slide down if you slipped but so many people have taken pictures there it couldn't be that bad…

We made it by the fall and it was definitely an incredible sight to be next to. We took pictures in the cold water. People mostly wear bathing suits there, snap a couple of pictures, then leave. I don’t feel that would serve a purpose for my bathing suit but to each its own.

In all, I had a wonderful time, the walk back down was pretty easy and I bought a hotdog before I left at one of their food spots and my friends had Dole Whip which was pretty good.
